Wrapped Up: Color Blocking

As a creative, my favorite part about gift giving is coming up with fun ways to wrap gifts.  I find joy in creating a personal experience for whom I’m gifting to. I love the feeling that I get when I’m able to make someone feel special. Everyone deserves to feel that way.

Today, I’m partnering with Fiskars to share some fashionable ways to wrap a gift. The theme is color blocking! I’ll share some fun color combinations that will make this season bright!! Ofcourse, I cannot do this without getting into the holiday mood myself so, I used these cheery holiday inspired scissors from Fiskars. You can find them at your local Joann Craft Stores. One of best things about the scissors is they come in a 2-pack so you can invite a friend over and wrap gifts together. The scissors are made with high-grade stainless-steel blades that feature a precision-ground edge that stays sharp longer and cuts all the way to the tip. This makes them not only great for cutting paper, but for fabric as well. The ergonomically sculpted handle allows you to have unmatched cutting control, and a bent handle design keeps materials flat for precise cuts every time. These scissors are the perfect option for cutting a wide range of materials,   There are so many great options to choose from:

  1. Berries and Red

  2. Multipolka Dots and Red

  3. Evergreens and Green

Also, if you know me, you know that I love anything that sparkles so this Glitter and Sew Sharp Set really got me into the holiday spirit. I really love that it comes with a matching blade sharpener too! The sharpener is made with a ceramic that will restore blades to their correct angle for precise cutting.

Listen….Fiskars believes in their product so much, their scissors have a full lifetime warranty! That tells me everything I need to know! I know that I can trust a brand if they believe in their product this much. You can too!

Alright! Let’s get into the gift wrapping ideas. Shall we?

COLOR BLOCKING

Having a love for fashion exudes in so many aspects of my life. Wrapping gifts is one of them. Putting colors together and adding fun baubles and trinkets to personalize it makes for a fun experience. When choosing colors, using a color wheel will make your life so much easier. Here are some tricks I like to when choosing colors:

  1.  Choose one color and the color directly across/ opposite is the one you’ll pair it with.

  2. When you find your color pairing, play with different shades from that group. Say for instance, instead of choose a basic green, try a mint green. Instead of using red, try burgundy.

  3. Experiment and have fun with it. There is no wrong answer here.
