DIY Couture High Low Skirt

A trend that was hot last year and even hotter this year is the High-Low skirt.  My fabric choice for this skirt is chiffon.  It presents itself to be feminine and soft.  I love the way the silhouette of the skirts sways when you walk; it's so graceful.skirt collage1

Just like every other article of clothing purchased in retail, quality skirt like these do run pretty high; between $75 to about a couple hundred dollars.  Who has that kind of money to spend on a skirt?  I surely don't so I decided to make a couple of my own. Below is a list of supplies I used to make this skirt.  This DIY is easy and fun.  I'm sure you will probably make more than one. (Hey! That rhymes!) Note:  When shopping for fabric, always check the Clearance first.  I found the multi-colored one for less than $5/yd.  You will need about 1.5-2 yards depending on your height.  Also, don't be in a hurry to purchase fabric. Wait for the sales or 50% off coupons. One more key thing to remember is JoAnn's and Hancock Fabrics always has .99 sales on their patters. NEVER pay full price on patterns. Keep a look out for the sales on those and stock up when you can. My local fabric store has excellent sales every week. My husband has to pay me to stay out of there. LOL! If you haven't subscribed to my YouTube channel yet, subscribe today!  Enjoy the video and please be sure to rate, comment and subscribe.
