Neon Knits

So I saw this really cool fashion blogger and I absolutely fell in love with her look. I absolutely love the thought of seeing something that I like and recreating it. Let’s break down the look and how we will recreate it. I already own a couple of these things but I want to recreate the base of this look ; the skirt + t-shirt.

SUPPLIES

Plain White Tshirt

Tulip Color Shot in Black

Waxpaper

Stencil (you can DIY your own with vinyl)

1.5 yds Cream Cable Knit Fabric

Pattern: New Look 6288

No Roll Elastic

Sewing Machine

Matching Thread

I love the Tulip Colorshot Instant Fabric Sprays, I plan on collecting all of the colors. You can make so many fun projects with this project. I love the color variety, the versatility of the product, and quick dry. It’s great!

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. To create the t-shirt, I slipped some wax paper in between the front and the back of the shirt to prevent leakage.

  2. I created a stencil and placed it at the top center of my shirt. I made sure the placement is 3” below the neckline.

  3. Shake the Tulip Fabric spray for 30 seconds and spray lightly onto your stencil. Try not to saturate the shirt because it’ll cause it to leak.

  4. Allow to dry for 30 minutes in between layers before applying another layer.

  5. Slowly remove the stencil and allow to dry for 30 minutes before wearing.

To create the skirt, I found this fabulous cable knit fabric at Joann Stores. I like the thought of it being white because it gives you the option to customize. You can dye the fabric any color you like. For this look I want to recreate, neon green it is.
